Kent Fire Brigade bring us some Christmas Cheer
Some of our clients will benefit from a collection of festive fare thanks to the generosity of Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS).
Staff at the KRFS Training Centre in Loose Road, Maidstone added one or two extra items to their weekly shop and have put together food hampers.
Driving School Manager, Jim Wilton said: “Gill Davidson, one of our driving instructors came up with the idea. Together with colleagues at the driving school, we decided to make Christmas a little brighter for some local elderly people, who will be spending Christmas alone this year. Hopefully it will kick-start the festive season at a time when they need it the most.”
Lyn Rootes, Client Services Manager at Age Concern, Maidstone added: “We have many deserving elderly people who visit our day centres and we are running Christmas parties until December 22. But, we’re mindful that many of these people live alone and don’t have family to spend Christmas with. Therefore, we are incredibly grateful for this kind-hearted gesture and the support of KFRS. It will certainly help make the festive season more rewarding for some local elderly people.”
